Last week we asked you guys to pray for the guy who was breaking into all the homes around us. Thank you for praying.
(Sorry about the bad audio… I had to chop up the audio to cut out the bad wind… I’ll do better next time)

Pray for “The Pod”
The leadership core of our homeschool group consists of myself and two other moms. We call ourselves The Pod.We have been doing life together regularly since last fall and expanded beyond our trio earlier this year. It has been a blessing to walk closely with them as we strive to follow Jesus and lead our children well.
We make, approve, and organize activities for about 12 other moms and kids with whom we gather on a weekly or bi-weekly basis.
We have reached the point of needing to discuss and outline who we are as a group, what we will and won’t participate in, membership of the group, etc. so that we can best present our core values to current and potential future homeschool moms.
Please pray that we would be led by God’s wisdom in these decisions, that we would have grace in our conversations, and that our group would flourish for God’s glory in the families we gather with and minister to.

The Kite

On a not too windy day about a week ago, Raven wanted to go outside to fly her kite. It was going alright, but it flew better when she ran.
We both tried and tried with limited success. As we were close to calling it quits, a Burmese man who Jay and I met many years ago in a house church we were all part of came walking up.
We have seen him here and there over the years. He is well-connected with the other Burmese people in our complex.
He asked if he could try our kite because we looked like we needed help (we did!). When he realized it wouldn’t fly, he said he would make one for Raven. He used to make them in Burma, he said.
A couple of days later, as we went out the back door, we found the kite in the photo above safely tucked between our door and mosquito net.
His kindness and faithfulness to craft a kite for our daughter warmed all of hearts! We are excited for a windy day to test it out and to thank him for the gift!

When you get hurt falling, but get back up
Recently, Raven and I (Patti) were playing soccer when a few of her friends in our complex wanted to join. It was me and a 5th grade boy vs. Raven, another 1st grade girl, and a 5th grade girl.
The grass was damp, but the rain had stopped.
I was primarily goalie. The big girl on the other team kicked hard and as I quickly headed to block, I slipped on the grass mid-turn.
I fell so hard on the grass and a little on the concrete. My right side and lower back were not happy with me. No visible bruising, but I could feel it.
The kids were very caring. I think they were a little shocked when I just hopped up and kept playing.
I love getting to be there with my girl and her friends and to be a fun parent/aunt on the playground! We have been asked to play a few times since, but have had to use a small ball as ours went flat on a different day.
