Yesterday around 4:15pm while Raven and I were outside, one of the Burmese Muslim families was gathering their young children to leave for the store. I noticed the 2 older boys didn’t go with them (1 elementary and 1 middle school).

Almost 2 hours later, Raven and I were back outside to burn more energy (hers, not mine ). The playground was empty except for those 2 boys. Their family wasn’t home yet and they were locked out of their apartment.

I offered them juice. They were very thirsty. And then I realized they were probably hungry, too.

I looked through options that would fit their dietary requirements (no pork) and found chicken nuggets and chicken corn dogs.

I passed out cheese sticks while we waited for the food to cook. They ate all the food so quickly and thanked me profusely.

They also had an astronomy lesson as we used an app on my phone to look at planets and stars that we could see.
